WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The South Carolina State women will take on Howard Friday in semifinal action of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.

The eighth-seeded Lady Bulldogs, who earned a berth in the semis with a 61-60 upset win over top-seeded North Carolina A&T on Wednesday won the only regular-season meeting between the two teams, 74-67, in Orangeburg Feb. 8.

Howard, seeded fourth, earned the right to play Coach Doug Robertson's team with a 56-54 triumph over fifth-seeded Florida A&M on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs appearance in the semifinals marks the first time the SC State women have made it that far in the league's post-season tournament since the 2001-02 season.
