ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WACH) - With the suspension of MEAC's fall sports season, no revenue from the money maker, football, could spell trouble for other sports. Dominique Brown, an alum of South Carolina State, is making a proactive call to alumni to help the women's soccer program.
Brown, who played for the Bulldogs from 2011-15, and was a team captain, says she just wanted to challenge alumni to take care of their program. "We are all sons and daughters of this program."
Now as Melissa Sherwood takes over the program as head coach, Brown wants to make sure the Bulldogs are on the pitch for years to come. The goal is to raise $4,000 dollars. Brown says she will donate $1,000 so they can present $5,000 total to the program.
