ORANGEBURG, SC—The Bulldogs had five players in double-figures with Ed Oliver-Hampton leading the way with a game-high 19 points, but South Carolina State fell short to visiting USC-Upstate, 78-82, Tuesday (Nov.23
rd) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Latavian Lawrence added 15, while Antonio Madlock chipped in 13, 
Raquan Brown 11 and Rakim Gary 10 points and 8 assist in the loss.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs defense forced a game-high 22 turnovers, while dominating in several categories such as points of turnovers (16-15) and bench points (44-36).
The Spartans led by as many as 17, 67-50, at the 8:16 mark in the second half. A 3-pointer by Gary with 0:41 second remaining the cut the lead to two, 78-76. Key clutch baskets down the stretch sealed with victory for the visiting Spartans.
Ahmir Landlais led the way for Upstate with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds.
Next up South Carolina State host The Citadel after the Thanksgiving break on Sunday (Nov.28
th) in a 2 p.m. start at S-H-M Gym.
