OFF THE FIELD: with Connor Loper

ORANGEBURG, SC--During Bulldog Spring Football we had a chance to sit down with Tight Ends Coach Connor Loper. Loper is in his first season on the SC State football coaching staff. He comes to Bulldog Country from Benedict College where he served as Wide Receivers Coach/ Passing Game Coordinator, as well as Director of Football Operations. During the 2023 Season, Benedict won its second consecutive SIAC Championship, 47-10, versus Albany State. Benedict went 11-0 in the regular season and made it to the second round of the NCAA D2 Playoffs. The Tigers had the #1 Scoring Offense in the SIAC at just under 40 points per game (39.7). Prior to his Benedict stint, Loper was at Southern University where he served as Assistant Wide Receivers Coach from 2019-2021. In 2019, Southern won the SWAC West Division.
