CANADA— The South Carolina State women's basketball team dropped a tough 53-60 defeat in the opening game of their International Tour in Canada versus the RSEQ All- Star Team at Champlain St-Lambert.
Monajah Ford and
Heaven Harper led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high 10 points each respectively, while Justice Tramble grabbed eight (8) rebounds and tossed in seven (7) points in the loss.
Taniya McGowan added a solid nine (9) points finishing 4-of-9 in 24 minutes played.
Despite the loss, SC State won the battle on the boards leading the way in rebounds (46-45), while forcing a game-high 16 turnovers on the day.
All-Stars posted three players in double-figures with Kennedie Haruna leading the way with a game-high 12 points and five (5) rebounds, Anais Levasseur added 11 points and five rebounds and Marilou St-Pierre finished with 10 points in the win.
Next up South Carolina State will take on UQAM in Game 2 of the International Tour.
