NORFOLK, Va., March 3, 2025 –South Carolina State graduate guard Omar Croskey was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week the league announced.

Croskey (G, 6-6, Gr., Sumter, SC) aided the Bulldogs in a 2-0 week with wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and Norfolk State. He recorded a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds with two steals and two assists against UMES. Croskey added four steals and 11 points in the victory over Norfolk State who sits atop the standings.

Others earning honors were,  Coppin State's Toby Nnadozie was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, while  Howard's freshman guard Blake Harper received Rookie of the Week honors.

Nnadozie (6-3, G, Jr., Baltimore, Md.) registered at team-high 25 points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Eagles past the Bison 72-61. Against Delaware State, he recorded a career-high 29 points along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the field.

Harper (G, 6-5, Fr., Washington, D.C.) averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in an 0-2 week for the Bison. Harper led the Bison with 19 points against Coppin State going 7-of-8 from the free throw line. He added 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists at N.C. Central.

• Julius Ellerby III (CSU) totaled 20 points and 16 rebounds with eight assists and three steals in a 1-1 week for CSU.
• Martaz Robinson (DSU) recorded 40 points, seven rebounds, nine steals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Hornets.
• Cardell Bailey (UMES) registered 27 points against Morgan State to lead the Hawks scoring.
• Daniel Akitoby (MSU) averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in a 1-1 week for the Bears.
• Brian Moore Jr. (NSU) tallied 38 total points in a 1-1 week for Norfolk State.
• Chris Fields Jr. (NSU) collected 20 points and 13 rebounds with three steals and three assists over two games for the Spartans.
• Perry Smith Jr. (NCCU) led the Eagles with 56 points through three games, adding 31 rebounds for an average of 18.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
• Drayton Jones (SCSU) tallied 38 points and 14 rebounds in a week that saw the Bulldogs knock off Norfolk State.
