ORANGEBURG, SC. — South Carolina State University is proud to announce that men's basketball assistant coach
Raheem Waller, has been
selected as one of only 45 coaches nationwide to participate in the
2025 NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy.
Hosted by the
NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, IN, the academy will take place
May 7–9, 2025 and offers a transformative educational experience for rising stars in basketball coaching. The invitation-only program is designed to sharpen leadership skills, foster a deeper understanding of the coaching profession, and provide unparalleled opportunities to connect with industry leaders and peers from across the country.
Coach Waller's dedication to developing student-athletes is a testament to his passion for the game. He helped guide he Bulldog Basketball team to his its first 2025 MEAC Regular Season Championship, their first 22-years in 2003 where he was player and All-MEAC performer and SC State captured the Regular Season and MEAC Tournament Title.
The NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy continues to be one of the most prestigious development platforms for aspiring head coaches at all levels. Coach Wallers' participation positions him among a select group of professionals being groomed for future leadership in college athletics.
SC State celebrates this achievement and looks forward to witnessing the continued impact Coach Waller will have both on the hardwood and in the lives of the student-athletes he serves.
ABOUT SC STATE ATHLETICS
South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 14 sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, softball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's soccer and football with all teams competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), except for women's soccer.
