CARY, N.C. – South Carolina State's Andrii Borodatiuk put on a dominant display on the final day of the 2026 MEAC Tennis Invitational, capturing both the men's singles title and the men's doubles crown alongside partner Iliyas Maratuly, while Norfolk State's Julia Daroszewska claimed the women's singles championship.
In singles, Daroszewska outlasted Morgan State's Michaela Stephens in a thrilling three-set battle, 7–6(7), 1–6, 7–6(7). On the men's side, Borodatiuk overcame Howard's Michael Major 6–1, 2–6, 6–1.
Both Daroszewska and Borodatiuk secured the MEAC's automatic qualifying berths for the upcoming ITA Conference Masters Championship.
In doubles competition, North Carolina Central's duo of Valentina De Aquino Monsanto and Carlota Rodriguez Sanchez rallied to defeat Pimmada Thongkum and
Katerina Marsalkova 1–6, 7–6(5), 10–3.
Borodatiuk then capped off his dual-title run in the men's doubles, teaming up with Maratuly to triumph over fellow Bulldogs Julius Augunas and Alan Aiukhanov 5–7, 7–5, 10–3.
With their victories, both championship doubles pairs also earned automatic qualification for the MEAC's spots in the ITA Conference Masters.
