ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The South Carolina State men's basketball team returns to action Friday, Nov. 6, when the Bulldogs travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina, to take on USC Upstate in a nonconference matchup.
Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN.
Under head coach
Erik Martin, South Carolina State looks to build momentum early in the 2026-27 campaign following its season-opening matchup against Morris College.
The Bulldogs will face an early road challenge against a USC Upstate squad competing on its home court. Friday's contest provides SC State another opportunity to develop its offensive rhythm, strengthen its defensive execution and continue building team chemistry as the season progresses.
Martin and the Bulldogs will look to establish a strong presence on both ends of the floor, emphasizing rebounding, ball movement, defensive intensity and limiting turnovers.
The road contest is part of a challenging nonconference schedule designed to prepare South Carolina State for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference competition later in the season.
