ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State women's soccer senior captain Tamika Aguilar and sophomore Jordan Crawford will be an apart of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) Women's National Team at the Caribbean Olympic qualifiers held from Oct.2-8th in Jamaica.
 
The USVI team will compete in four games against host, Cuba, St. Lucia, and Aruba.
 
Aguilar who has seven international appearances under her belt along with three international goals, was named team captain for the USVIWNT for both summer and 2019 training camps that were held in St. Croix and Florida.
 
Aguilar has scored two goals this season against Mississippi Valley State and Presbyterian, while competing on the Lady Bulldog women's soccer team.
 
"I am excited for what this week has to bring. I think it will be interesting with the group of
players coming in, along with the new coaching staff.," said Aguilar. "I hope we'll be able to mesh well and that these few trainings going into qualifiers will provide us with some confidence going into the
games."
 
BURRIS ON AGUILAR: Tamika has high hopes going into qualifiers and believes they have a good chance of competing with the teams in their group stage.
 
Crawford has started in two (2) international appearances under her belt along with scoring a goal against and an assist this season.
 
BURRIS ON CRAWFORD: She feels like she is well prepared for qualifiers due to the help of the SC State Coaching Staff. Jordan also has high hopes going into qualifiers and believes they will have a good chance of competing with all the teams in their group.
 
"I am so excited to be able to have the opportunity to be able to compete at this level and with the new coaching staff and players coming in we should have a good fighting chance," said Crawford. "I am glad to have these few training sessions going into qualifiers so it will give us some time to figure out what
everyone has to bring to the table."
