VB: Lady Bulldogs Close Out Regular Season At NC Central

DURHAM, NC—The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs close out the 2022 regular season on the road at North Carolina Central. First serve is 6 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs lost their last two home games of the season last weekend, dropping straight-set matches to Norfolk State and Howard. South Carolina State (0-24 Overall, 0-13 MEAC) has only won one set in its first 24 matches this season and is locked in as the eighth-seed for the MEAC Championship next week.
 
South Carolina State  only has two players averaging over one kill per set.
 
Semira Fields, who played three seasons at Grambling State University, has taken over the team lead with 1.60 kills per set. Fields also is third on the team with 1.30 digs per set.
 
Eleisha Thompson follows Fields with 1.03 kills per set and first-year Gabriella Panzetta averages nearly one kills per set (0.98). Panzetta, who leads the team with 0.60 blocks per set, had a team-best five kills and two blocks in the SC State loss to NCCU on Oct. 2 in Orangeburg.
 
Junior transfer Siela Avea (Iowa Central CC) is listed as a hitter, but has been South Carolina State's primary setter by contributing 3.53 assists per set and 1.05 digs per set. Sophomore libero transfer Kiarra Rosales (Central State University) is chipping in a team-best 1.55 digs per set.
