NORFOLK, VA – South Carolina State had its strongest performance of the three-day Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship on Thursday, with the women earning 31 points and men earning 35 points.
Coach Donald Cooper's men's squad amassed at total of 52 total points to finish seventh while the women tallied 44 points for a seventh-place finish as well.
Host Norfolk State collected 188.50 points to take the men's title, while the Howard women totaled 241.50 points for the women's championship.
The SCSU men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Jalen Alleyne,
Dwayne Curnell,
Erick Hill and
Kristopher Brown finished second on Thursday with a season-best time of 40.02, while the women (
Cameran Gist,
Angelica Frederick,
Debrielle Williams and
Maya Smith) were fourth in the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 46.22, their top time of the season also.
