NORFOLK, VA---The third-seed South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs will face once again the top-seed Howard Bison in the MEAC Softball Championship Semifinals inside Townebank Field Friday (May. 8). First pitch is 11:00 a.m.
The winner will advance to the Championship game Saturday (May. 9) at 12 noon on ESPN+.
HOW IT HAPPENDED: SC State captured back-to-back wins to advance with an 8-0 win over No. 6 Coppin State and an 8-3 victory over No. 2 Delaware State. Meanwhile, No.1 Howard toppled No. 5 Morgan State 11-2 (6 innings) to move on to the semifinal round.
NOTE: Both teams feature the best of the best on both sides of the ball with SC State having seven (7) selected to All-MEAC post season honors, including freshman
Dallas Hill who was named MEAC Rookie of the Year as well as All-MEAC First team. Junior
Jamaria Charley was also named All-MEAC First Team respectfully.
THE LAST TIME THE TWO TEAMS MET: Howard captured the three-game series at home with 0-6, 5-14 and 3-8 wins in Washington, DC.
