MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — South Carolina State women's soccer continues its early-season road stretch Thursday when the Lady Bulldogs visit the College of Charleston for a 7 p.m. match at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.
The Lady Bulldogs enter the contest 0-5 overall and 0-3 on the road in their second season under head coach
Andrew Richardson. SC State has faced Southern Utah, Elon, Mercer, The Citadel and Wofford to open the 2026 campaign.
Thursday's matchup will mark the eighth meeting between South Carolina State and Charleston. The Cougars hold a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series, with the most recent meeting ending in a 7-0 Charleston victory in 2024.
SC State will look to generate more offensive opportunities after recording 18 shots through its first five matches. Five of those attempts were on goal, while the Bulldogs have earned nine corner kicks.
Aaliyah Silver leads SC State with four shot attempts, while
Emmi Sullivan has recorded three.
Denive Guy-Williams, Sarah Listrom and Sullivan have each put at least one attempt on goal, with Sullivan leading the Bulldogs with two shots on frame.
In goal,
Jada Gittings has appeared in all five contests and has recorded 33 saves in 340 minutes, 43 seconds of action. Alexa Smith has also seen time in three matches and has five saves.
The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 road setback against Wofford on Sunday. Thursday will mark SC State's fourth consecutive road contest after trips to Mercer, The Citadel and Wofford.
Charleston will host Fan Appreciation Night in conjunction with the match, featuring a custom College of Charleston JBL speaker raffle.
