ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State, Friday, held a light practice in shorts and helmets in preparation for the team's final scrimmage on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.

Saturday's scrimmage will be the Bulldogs' dress rehearsal for next Saturday's (Sept. 4) season opener at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The workout will be in shells (shorts, helmets and shoulder pads).

Coach Buddy Pough revealed the 2010 Bulldog captains as voted on by the team. Senior quarterback Malcolm Long of Gaffney and senior offensive line Johnny Culbreath of Monroe, Georgia have been elected offensive captains. Senior linebackers David Erby of Rock Hill and Julius Wilkerson of Gaffney, the latter Long's high school teammate at Gaffney High, were chosen defensive captains.
