TO THE MEDIA
Working press passes for SC State University home games can be obtained by contacting the SC State Sports Information Office. All requests for home football games must be submitted by the Wednesday prior to the game. Due to space limitation, seating cannot be guaranteed unless ample notice is given. Requests from sports writers of newspapers and sports directors of television stations, along with media agencies covering the visiting teams, will receive top priority. Only accredited photographers on assignment may work on baseline. Credentials will be mailed if requests are submitted in a timely manner. Otherwise they can be picked up at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium (Football) or Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center (Basketball).
MEDIA GUIDES
Media Guides are a production of the SC State Sports Information Office as a service to opposing teams and the media. The media guides are available by contacting the Sports Information Office at (803) 536-7060.
THE INTERNET
Information on the SC State Bulldogs/Lady Bulldogs is available to members of the media 24 hours a day through this website. The Bulldogs/Lady Bulldogs most up-to-date releases and statistics for many sports may be accessed throughout this website. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has a website at http://www.meacsports.com that is updated daily with pertinent information as it relates to the MEAC Conference and its member institutions.
GAME SERVICES
Programs, media guides, lineups/flip charts, statistics, MEAC standings and notes and game background information will be supplied at all home football and basketball games to accredited media representatives and scouts at Press Box (football) and Press Row (basketball). Access to the Press Box and Press-Row in Oliver C. Dawson and Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center is reserved for properly-credentialed individuals only. For football and basketball games, stats are provided to broadcasters during time-outs. At football and basketball, NCAA box scores are distributed at halftime with a complete NCAA Final Box Score and Play-by-Play available after the game in the Press Box or Press Row. Refreshments will also be served in the Press Box and in a designated area for the media during the game.
Telephones are available after all games, either in the Press Box or Press Row (football, basketball) or in the Sports Information Office (all other sports) on a first-come, first, served basis. Fax service is also available following the game, by request.
INTERVIEWS
Please contact the Sports Information Office to schedule interviews with the head coaches, assistant coaches and players on the team. Players will not be available during game days prior to the game. If you wish to attend practice or conduct an interview before or after practice, please contact the SC State Sports Information Office. NO PLAYER WILL BE ASKED TO MISS CLASS OR STUDY HALL FOR INTERVIEWS AND AT NOT TIME WILL A PLAYER’S HOME OR CELL PHONE NUMBER BE GIVEN TO THE MEDIA.
SC State coaches and players will be available for post-game interviews following a brief cooling off period. For football, SC State interviews are conducted either on the field or in the SCSU Football Interview Room located adjacent to the home locker room. The visiting coach and players will be available in the visitor locker-room area with assistance from the visiting SID. For basketball, SC state interviews are conducted on the court or in the press-box. The visiting coach and players will be available in the visitor locker-room area with the assistance from the visiting SID. For all other sports, contact the SID for the sport after the game to arrange post-game interviews at the site. Media representatives are advised to contact the visiting SID with special requests.
