Antonio Hamilton have been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for their performances during the Bulldogs 20-14 victory over #14 Bethune-Cookman on Saturday (Oct.25).
On Monday, the league announced Hargrave as the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week and Hamilton as the Special Teams Player of the week.
Hargrave (DL, 6-2, 300, Jr., Salisbury, N.C.) collected 11 solo tackles in the Bulldogs' 20-14 win over No. 14 Bethune-Cookman. He recorded six sacks in the game, tying a FCS and MEAC record, and forced two fumbles to halt the defending co-champion Wildcats.
Hamilton (DB, 6-0, 185, r-Jr., Johnson, S.C.) recorded a 91-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Bulldogs' win over Bethune-Cookman.
North Carolina Central quarterback Malcolm Bell was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, while Hampton's Jerrell Antoine earned Rookie of the Week honors and NCCU's Carl Jones was named Offensive Lineman of the Week, respectively.
Up next for the Bulldogs are the Tigers of Savannah State Saturday (Nov. 1) at Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium. SC State is 5-3 overall, 3-1 in the MEAC, while Savannah State holds a 0-8, 0-5 in the league.
