Darius Leonard was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week , the conference announced on Monday.

Marquell Cartwright earned Rookie of the Week honors.

North Carolina Central was selected as the
Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively. Leonard (LB, 6-3, 200, r-Fr., Lake View, S.C.) finished with a game-high 13 tackles, 12 solo, with two sacks for 17 yards, and 3.5 tackles for a loss of 20 yards in a 34-17 win over Florida A&M. He also forced a fumble and a quarterback hurry in the win.
