ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State head women's basketball coach Doug Robertson announced Wednesday the signing of Dashanique Peterson, who will play for the Lady Bulldogs in the 2015-16 season.
 
"Dashanique is another great athlete we were fortunate to sign in the early period," Robertson said. "She will give our game an added dimension in the paint with her ability to score and defend the basket."
 
Peterson, a six-foot-four center from Kingstree High School in Kingstree, S.C., ranks in the top five on the Southernhoops.net 2014-15 South Carolina Players to Watch List. She was also named 2014-15 Preseason Player of the Year by Southernhoops.net, which also ranked Kingstree first in the preseason poll. Last season, she helped Kingstree to a 25-4 record while averaging 15.2 points, 18.6 rebounds and 10.7 blocks per game.
