ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Senior guard
Kourtney Williams was named College Sports Madness Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday for her exceptional performance during the past week's action. College Sports Madness identifies the players who have had the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each Monday.
Williams scored a career-high 37 points on Saturday to lead SC State to a 79-75 MEAC win over Norfolk State. She was 10-of-17 from the floor for the game and 15-of-17 from the free-throw line. For the season, she is averaging 16.1 points per game in 19 games. Additionally, she is just 26 points away from reaching 1,000 for her career.
