Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The SC State softball team fell 17-2 to Youngstown State on Thursday afternoon at Lady Bulldog Field.
Youngstown State (6-9) led 12-0 after the first two and a half innings. SC State (4-8) got on the board in the bottom of the third after
Mikala Johnson hit a double to center field that scored
Jasmine Harris and
Unique Whitehurst.
Youngstown went on to score five more runs in the top of the fourth and the game ended after five innings.
Caitlyn Minnie picked up the win after pitching five innings and allowing three hits and two earned runs.
Jareece Sayles suffered the loss, giving up eight hits and seven earned runs in two and one-third innings.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader against Maryland Eastern Shore beginning at 1 p.m.
