ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State football team began preparing for its 11-game 2015 schedule Tuesday morning with the first of 15 spring workouts. Approximately 75 players were in attendance for the 7 a.m. drill, which was conducted in shorts and helmets.
"I thought our guys ran around and showed a lot of enthusiasm," said SC State head coach Buddy Pough. "It feels good to be back out here with some of the young guys, to try and get a look and them and see how they can help us somewhere down the line."
The spring schedule will include practices on Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 7 a.m., followed 10 a.m. start on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
South Carolina State will hold two scrimmages during the spring on Saturday, March 28 and Friday, April 3 and will culminate drills with the Apr. 11 annual Garnet and Blue Spring game.
The Bulldogs return to the field Thursday morning at 7 a.m. and will work out in shorts and helmets again.
