ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs wrapped up its 11
th of 15 scheduled spring workouts, Tuesday morning in a two-hour lively session in full gear at Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium.
"We had a good practice this morning despite the rain situation and overall we got a lot accomplished down to our short yardage and goal line defense installed," said SC State head coach Buddy Pough.
Pough stated, "Right now we have developed a mental toughness throughout our team and even in some of the younger guys, I feel can carry us throughout spring. With two scrimmages under our belt it's few newcomers that seem to standout in certain positions."
"We are in the final stages and getting schemes together making sure we have guys in the right place," said Pough. "This team has some individual positions where some players can develop into really good football players but overall we still have a lot of work to do."
SC State midway through spring drills will play an 11-game schedule in 2015. The Bulldogs open the campaign on September. 6 when Pough's team battle SWAC foe Arkansas Pine Bluff in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
The Bulldogs return to the practice fields Thursday (April 9) at 6:15 a.m., for the twelfth (12
th) spring workout. SC State will hold its annual Garnet & Blue Spring game Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at Dawson Stadium.
