ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State will conduct its annual "Press and Picture" Day Saturday (Aug. 15), beginning at 9 a.m. at O.C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium.
Players and Coach Buddy Pough will be available for interviews following team and individual pictures. The Bulldogs will hold their first preseason scrimmage during the evening at 3:10 p.m.

SC State held an early morning practice session that lasted nearly three hours in full gear. The Bulldogs wrapped up goal line offensive and defensive schemes and worked on special team's formations in preparation for their first preseason scrimmage.

"We got a lot done today and we are in the process of using all the players we have to see where they can help us," said Pough. "The good thing about our situation is we have depth in some of our key positions like running backs, wide receivers and at quarterback.

Pough noted that he has a little concern about a few offensive linemen that are out with injuries but it's common around this time during camp.

"I feel like some our players are still trying to find their way," stated Pough. "We still have some work to do but overall for the most we have an   idea of what we need to work on and we are ahead of things so we have enough time to correct them."

The Bulldogs take Sunday off, before returning to the practice field Monday with two workouts – an early morning session at 9:30 a.m. in full pads and an evening practice at 7:10 in shells.
