ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State track and field teams combined for 15 top 10 finishes, including two runner-ups, Saturday at the USC Open in Columbia.

Top performers for Coach Tim Langford's squads included Anthony Britt, who was second in the discus with a toss of 50.34m (165-02 ft.), and the 4x400m relay team of Chris Gaddist, Khorvon Nelson, Dyrell Kinloch and Jarad Jeter, which covered the course in 3:14.38.

Other top 10 performers were Bryson Brown, 4^th in the long jump (7.04m; 23-01.25 ft.); Joseph Brevard, 5^th in the triple jump (13.59m; 44-07.00 ft.); Tillman Richards, 8^th in the triple jump (13.48m; 44-02.75 ft.); Jeter, 5^th in the 400m (47.32); Gaddist, 6^th in the 110m hurdles (14.32); James Jones, 8^th in the 110m hurdles (14.65); Moses Kennedy, 8^th in the 400m (56.68); Gaddist, 6^th in the high jump (1.93m; 6-04 ft.); Melvin Smith, tied for 7^th in the high jump (6-02 ft.); Shakaria Bradford, 5^th in the high jump (1.55m; 5-01 ft.); Payton Ashe, 9^th in the long jump (4.99m; 16-04.50 ft.); Marie McClary, 10^th in the long jump (4.96m; 16-03.25 ft.) and Frantia Boudreaux, 8^th in the 400 meters (58.83).

SC State will take a week off before returning to action May 4-6 for the 2017 MEAC Outdoor Championship, hosted by North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, NC.
