HARDEEP JUDGE TENNIS CENTER
The SC State tennis teams play their home matches at the newly-upgraded Hardeep Judge Tennis Center, located behind Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center and adjacent to Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
The structure, which is currently (2014) being renovated, consists of seven playing courts, all of which have been resurfaced. The facility also has new lighting, new windscreens, new nets and new benches. Extensive landscaping, including concrete paths and brick walls have been added.
The renovations will also include the addition of a state-of-the-art scoreboard, with corporate signage, and seating for approximately 200 persons.
The courts are named in honor of longtime and highly successful SC State men’s and women’s tennis coach Hardeep Judge. Judge, who in 2002, was named tennis coach at the institution where he played as an undergraduate, has amassed an enviable record of over 400 wins, making him one of only a few coaches in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) to reach that plateau. His teams have captured 20 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference titles and made as many appearances in the prestigious NCAA Tennis Championships. In addition, he has earned numerous Coach of the Year honors, including two from the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
